Close Reading - St. Patrick's Day

Let's face it - teachers are busy and don't always have time to develop the lessons necessary for each subject each day.  I have developed many close reading lesson plans for use in the K-3 classroom using picture books you probably already read aloud to your class.

The purpose of close read and academic vocabulary:

With the adoption of Common Core State Standards for Language Arts and Literacy, educators have found that using close reading instruction is an effective teaching strategy that allows students to critically examine text. This is done through multiple readings which also allows students to understand vocabulary that is usually not used in everyday conversation.

Head over to my store to check out the many close read lessons!  I'm sure you will find one that fits your needs!
