Item Description:

A simple set of 15 task cards that can be used after reading a short story or novel. Among questions asked:

* What is the author's purpose in writing this story? How can you tell?
* Do you think the author could have made the story more interesting? How?
* Which details helped you form a picture in your mind? How did these details help you?

These cards could be used for group work, individual work, or as classwork. Using task cards instead of worksheets also saves valuable copies and ink.

This Round to the Nearest Ten or Hundred Resource Includes:

• Page One - This pages is a Round to the Nearest Ten Rounding Chart with Rounding to the Nearest Ten only.

• Page Two - This pages is a Round to the Nearest Hundred Rounding Chart with Rounding to the Nearest Hundred only.

• Page Three - Two number lines with multiple purposes. A great way to introduce this concept (or review it) is to project a number line 0 to 10 on the board, or even, if your projector is flexible, on the floor. Give your students, one at a time, an index card with a number, 0 to 10, on it. Have the student come to the front of the room, card in front of them and stand at the number. Then they need to hop, skip or just walk to the number that is closer 0 or 10. Let everyone have a turn, then if you have time or on the next day, you can use the 0 to 100 number line. This time, print this page and let your whole class follow along with any type of counter, coin, unifix cube, etc. Better yet, print this page, slice in half and laminate, then you can use them at centers, small group, morning work bins, but also be able to use them again and again! Win Win!
