FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “The Canterbury Tales FREE Study Guide & Questions: The Prioress and the Friar”

This free, no-prep, self-guided study of two pilgrims - INCLUDING THE POEM - presents two of the most interesting pilgrims from Chaucer's The Prologue to the Canterbury Tales. This independent work packet includes a Study Guide, editable worksheets and possible answers- phew! The colorful pages of the Study Guide and the exciting 21st century translation will delight your British Literature students and enhance their understanding of part of this Medieval poem. A biography of Chaucer, vocabulary explanations and character summaries, and accompanying worksheets will help understanding and keep students busily engaged. The questions require answers of a sentence or two; no simple ‘yes or no’ responses are called for. A sub without any prep time could supervise this lesson, as all explanations are supplied and the students fill their question responses directly into the worksheets. • Print on card stock and laminate.

• Cut on the dotted line on each page.

• Bind the adapted book together. OR hole punch in the upper left corner and use a 1" binder ring to hold the book together.

• Put a piece of Velcro in each empty box or circle. Put a piece of Velcro on the back of each answer piece.
