This free, no-prep, self-guided study of two pilgrims - INCLUDING THE POEM - presents two of the most interesting pilgrims from Chaucer's The Prologue to the Canterbury Tales. This independent work packet includes a Study Guide, editable worksheets and possible answers- phew! The colorful pages of the Study Guide and the exciting 21st century translation will delight your British Literature students and enhance their understanding of part of this Medieval poem. A biography of Chaucer, vocabulary explanations and character summaries, and accompanying worksheets will help understanding and keep students busily engaged. The questions require answers of a sentence or two; no simple ‘yes or no’ responses are called for. A sub without any prep time could supervise this lesson, as all explanations are supplied and the students fill their question responses directly into the worksheets.
