FREE MATH LESSON - “FREE Hands-On Math Activities that Uses Dominoes for Differentiated Instruction”

by Scipi - Science and Math
4th - 6th Grade

This FREE Dots Fun for Everyone 10 page math resource encompasses activities for sorting dominoes, four digit place value, and using division facts. Overall, it contains three different activities and one game that involve finding sums that equal 12. The activities and games vary in difficulty; so differentiated instruction is easy. This resource is also excellent for math center activities.

For these activities, commercial sets of dominoes may be used or you can copy the blackline which is provided in the resource. You should have at least one set of 28 dominoes for every two children.

These activities are appropriate for the visual and/or kinesthetic learner and are appropriate for grades 3-6. They work well for a math center, for differentiated instruction, as well as for introducing or reviewing a math concept.

If you like this freebie, you may want to purchase the entire resource.

Also available is one for the primary grades.

If you just want math games that incorporate dominoes, look at this resource.

FREE MISC. LESSON - “Mindfulness Freebie - Mindful Breathing”

by Kathy Babineau
Kindergarten - 4th Grade

Mindfulness can help our students to improve emotional regulation and focus. Mindfulness strategies including mindful breathing are easy to implement in a classroom to provide our students with easy ways to help themselves to feel calmer, more focused and to address compassion and kindness. This simple mindfulness craft provides kids with a tool to support calm, mindful breathing.

This simple, tactile tool helps kids learn to take deep, relaxing breaths to help them feel calmer and focused. By following the simple instructions, students will create a simple breathing stick with craft beads and a small pipe cleaner. A mini-poster is included to remind students how to use the tool.

This freebie includes: CRAFTIVITY AND two MINI-POSTERS. Great for classroom and therapy use. This simple mindfulness strategy works well in calm down corners, and as a tool for focus and self-regulation before and after standardized testing.

This craft is part of a larger set of mindful breathing activities. If you like this, you may also like this:
