This is a brief group or individual learning activity where students read a one to two sentence excerpt of the Magna Carta and make a comparison to government today.
This learning activity helps students compare the Magna Carta to modern government. It prompts analysis and critical thinking. This is a great bellringer or introductory activity to the Magna Carta.
Product includes four different excerpts/prompts.
Each prompt has an introductory quote from Public Radio International explaining the background of the Magna Carta. Then, students read a brief except of the Magna Carta. Lastly, they decide how this matches government practices TODAY!
