Help students unplug from technology with a 24-hour challenge in which students give up their phones and computers and experience life without screens!
This 3-page download includes:
- Editable student handout: directions and self-assessment questions
- An optional "We Survived" poster that students who participated can sign
I did this with middle school ELA classes to raise awareness of technology addiction, time management skills, and the impact of blue light on sleep. (In addition to giving them a paper copy of the directions, I chose to email the challenge to their parents for increase participation!) Students who completed the challenge (with a parent signature) got a small food reward, but it is completely up to you if you wish to reward the "survivors" in some way.
Since this document is editable, feel free to make it your own and adapt it to the culture of your classroom, school, or community.
