FREE ELA LESSON FIGURATIVE WRITING & ART

A fabulous way to get students to think & write figuratively! Fun and meaningful, No Prep, amazingly free writing and art combo activity that gets students to think about themselves figuratively and symbolically. Students are provided with handouts that lead them step-by-step in answering questions about themselves, then making similes, then creating symbols. This all goes on their mandala, and samples are provided to inspire them.
Perfect for reluctant writers. Also
great for the end of the school year when there is more time to relax a little yet you still want to hold their attention.
Available in PDF or Google Slides for distance learning. Notes on ways to do this through distance learning are provided so it can easily be done in class or at home.
Teacher directions included. Samples that inspire included. Very thorough!
Fun yet meaningful because it gets students to write figurative language.
