FREE MATH LESSON - “First Grade Math Number of the Day | Common Core TRY BEFORE YOU BUY FREEBIE!!”

by The Fun Factory
1st - 2nd Grade

Number of the Day or Daily Math Warm-up has been created to help students begin to think about math (numbers) in different ways. Sometimes I tell my students I don’t care what the answer is, I just want to know HOW we FIND the answer.
These activities are just PRINT, NO PREP!
At the beginning of the school year our students come at all different levels. Because of this, I started out with numbers 1-20 for August/September. Each month learning objectives will scaffold and some activities will change.
Once students learn what is expected, I have the sheets out for them to begin as a warm-up to our calendar and/or Math Lesson for the day.
Anyone can memorize what a number’s name is (symbol), but that does not mean that you know what it means. There is no meaning in the symbol. However, if you understand what the symbol (number) MEANS, eventually the symbol (the name) stands for all you know about that symbol.
