FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “How to Write Incredible Introductions and Captivating Conclusions”

When writing informational texts, students need to know how to introduce a topic and how to write a concluding statement that supports the information presented in the writing. This handout is useful as a mini-lesson for that purpose. It outlines 7 ways that students can write introductions that grab the reader's attention and 5 ways they can write conclusions without resorting to tired and boring methods. Examples are given for each method, an "Avoid at all costs" suggestions, as well as activities for students to practice recognizing effective introductions and conclusions.
