My top ten quotations for the inspirational classroom.

My top ten quotations for the inspirational classroom.

1) "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now." (Chinese Proverb)

The perfect quotation to emphasise the fact that if we want to do something why not start straight away. In years to come a small start could have led to something enduring and magnificent.

2) "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right". (Henry Ford)

This has a lot to say about our state of mind. If pupils have the growth mindset then they have a great foundation to improve.

3) "A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence". (James N Watkins)

Learning is difficult and this quotation acknowledges it. It also shows the power of trying and trying, through the imagery of the river.

4) "Enemies has 7 letters but so does friends. Lying has 5 letters but so does truth. Hurt has 4 letters but so does heal. Turn every negative into a positive." (Anonymous)

I love the opposites in this quotation. Pupils are going through difficult times and this helps them to see how our response to life's events can reshape them.

5) "It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop". (Confucius)

A simple quotation but one that encourages pupils to keep going!

6) "You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore". (Christopher Columbus)

Not being afraid to fail. Not being afraid to go out of your comfort zone. Who knows? A whole new world could be waiting.

7) "Be the change you wish to see in the world". (Ghandi)

A lovely quotation showing pupils that change thats from within.

8) "The successful warrior is the average man with laser-like focus". (Bruce Lee)

Focus is something that can be hard to get in the classroom. Bruce Lee helps pupils to understand its importance. A particularly effective quotation with the boys.

9) "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending, he turned into a butterfly." (Proverb)

I like the magic within this quotation. If something terrible happens it could lead to something special.

10) "Why be a copy when you born to be original." (Oscar Wilde)

We all want pupils to be themselves. This is the perfect quotation to inspire it.

Why not bring a daily quotation into your classroom to inspire and stimulate?

See link below for a free daily quotation Powerpoint calendar for September. Pupils open a  window and the daily quotation is revealed.
