Based on Fred Jones’s Preferred Activity Time, this classroom management tool encourages students to bring class supplies, to stay on-task, and to contribute to a positive classroom climate. Once they earn their C.A.T., students select educational games and other fun activities to enjoy!
I’ve successfully used this strategy in all of my classes from grades 6 to 11 over the past 15 years. This freebie includes an explanation of how C.A.T. works, a poster to display in the classroom, and notes on how you can manage various situations.
