Learning to make subjects and verbs agree in number is an important writing skill. Most of the time, writers can detect an error in subject/verb agreement because it sounds wrong. To those whose first language is not English, it may be more challenging to hear the errors. In this practice exercise, if students follow the first three steps from Charlene Tess’s Simple Steps to Sentence Sense grammar program, they can easily make the subject agree with the verb in number. The Rainbow Ranger in this PowerPoint WebQuest will teach very young learners the correct order of rainbow colors as they learn to use the computer to access information and solve puzzles. Additionally, your students will learn how to spell the colors of the rainbow and they will learn a song that will help them remember the order of colors.
