Easter STEM Challenge: Nice Nest

Q: Aside from the obvious, what can one do with toilet paper?

A: Build a nice nest, of course!

In this STEM design challenge, students work against a Criteria & Constraints list to build a nest of highest possible capacity using primarily super-cheap TP.  Kids love this one because it's a little silly, really challenging, and a lot of fun!  Inspiration sometimes comes from the strangest places!  It's up to you whether to stay true to the suggested materials or branch out and do as the birds do, searching the ground for supplemental nest materials.

Easter STEM Challenge: Carrot Carriage

Q: How does the Easter Bunny get around in style?

A: In a brand new carrot carriage!

In this STEM challenge, students design a carriage made primarily of carrots to help the Easter Bunny get moving with his precious Easter cargo!  Depending on the age group, the carriage should either roll downhill or propel itself on flat ground a certain distance.

Easter Stem Challenge: Bean Bind

Q: What happens when there's a mix up at the bean factory just days before Easter?

A: The Easter Bunny has a bean bind that only a STEM design challenge can fix!

Can your students help the Easter Bunny out of this bean bind?  In this challenge, students work against a Criteria & Constraints List to design a way to sort the beans. With younger students, you may elect to use jelly beans and one other type. With older students, challenge them with two or more other types of beans.
