This guided reading FREEBIE has 3 sample books from 3 larger, 10-book sets of printable beginning reading books. The larger set covers word families, CVC words, phonics, sight words, blends, and digraphs. The books cover short and long vowel sounds. The guided reading books are phonics-based and get progressively more difficult as your reader builds on skills covered in previous books.
Directions for Book Assembly:
Each book consists of twelve pages of print for the child, but only four pages to copy. In order to make the books, print pages 1 and 2 then print pages 3 and 4 on the back (1 and 3 are back-to-back and 2 and 4 are back-to-back). Cut each page through the middle horizontally. Order the pages, fold, and staple to make the books. A heavier weight of paper works well to print the books on, such as 28 lb. weight. It helps so that the pictures don’t show through the paper. They are also a lot more durable if the covers are laminated.
