FREE MISC. LESSON - “Are You A Pet? Mini-booklet FREEBIE!”

by KindyKats
Pre-Kindergarten - 1st Grade

This free emergent reader is a sample from one of my best selling resources, Pets Songs and Rhymes, reinforcing the concept of wild animals vs. pets. Use during center time, for small group work, and for reading buddies to work on together!
Are You A Pet? Emergent Reader
Each child will need:
1. A set of the half-page booklet pages (pages 5 – 7)
2. Art supplies – scissors, pencils, crayons, a black stamp pad.

1. Cut out the booklet pages, but DO NOT cut out the Backing Page (page 5).
2. Booklet Backing Page: Color the title page and write your name. At the bottom of the page, draw and color a pet. Complete the sentence.
3. Booklet Page 1: Color the fly. Draw and color something the fly landed on.
4. Booklet Page 2: Color the bee. Draw a flower for the bee.
5. Booklet Page 3: Color the blue jay. Draw a branch for the blue jay to sit on.
6. Booklet Page 4: Make 3 thumbprints to make an ant. Draw 6 legs on the ant. Color the picture.
7. Stack the booklet pages in order and staple them to the bottom of the backing page along the left side.
