FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “FREE Differentiated Comprehension Questions Elephant and Piggie I Am A Frog”

by Lisa Rombach
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

The ELEPHANT & PIGGIE story, I’m A Frog! by Mo Willems, is a favorite in many primary classrooms. I created 2 sets of comprehension questions to check for understanding (2 pages for each set).

The first set is designed for grades 1-2 (responding by writing a sentence or a list). This set could be used for above level students in kdg. An additional version of this first set includes MORE lines for responding. This set could be used for higher performing students who are responding with longer sentences.

The second set is designed for kindergarten (teacher reads questions aloud). It can also be used to differentiate in a first or second grade classroom. Students will respond by drawing and/or labeling.

If you liked this FREE set, check out my other Elephant and Piggie Differentiated Comprehension Question Sets!

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Free Adjective Lotto Game Speech and Language”

by Susan Berkowitz
Kindergarten - 3rd Grade

Need a fun activity to build understanding of descriptive words? Building vocabulary is an important academic skills; particular for those students who struggle with language. Adjectives are used to carry meaning, and we teach students to use them to expand phrases and sentences. This free adjective Lotto game is engaging and a great quick therapy activity.

This free game comes with

• 6 individual, different lotto game cards

• a custom spinner with 14 different adjectives

Students spin in turn, and try to find pictures on their cards that match the adjective. For example, a boy swimming would fit the adjective "wet."

You might like other vocabulary building resources in my store, such as this bundle of describing and defining activities

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Turtle Theme: Fun Bookmarks & Book Response Printables {FREE}”

by Growing Smart Readers
1st - 3rd Grade

These topsy-turvy turtles make a statement about reading! My second graders were thrilled with these bookmarks. I use them in my class as a little reward in lieu of stickers!

Also, included are 2 half pages for peer book reviews, and 3 pages for book responses, or short book reports. Use for centers, independent work, homework, or to keep in a daily book log. Great for all those turtle lovers in your class.

These are fun to place in a book basket. Your kids choose a book, write a review to share with peers, and/or write a short book response to one of the prompts. This is a great way to highlight selected books, or for a new genre you may be introducing. Having a book basket filled with these is a great motivator for students to write a review and then receive a bookmark afterward.

Bookmarks look best if printed on sturdy paper or card stock, and laminated (or use clear mailing tape like I do). Punch a hole at the top and add ribbon or yarn and beads, or just use as is.

I hope you enjoy this free download. Thank you!
