FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Fall Theme Editable Print-Practice Paper Free Download”

by The Illustrated Classroom
Pre-Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Editable print-practice paper with an autumn theme! There are two ways to use it:

1) You can print out blank ones for some cute, fall-themed writing paper.
2) Or you can enter some traceable, dotted-line text for the little ones to copy.

Maybe you have a little fall-themed poem in mind. You can type it in, print it out, make copies, and let the kids go to work tracing. Some teachers also use it for name-writing practice. They type the student's name on each line, print, then repeat for the next student.

Check out the thumbnails and preview for a closer look at how it works.

This editable print-practice paper works with the free Adobe Reader. You don't need any fonts or Microsoft software. The art is "blackline" so it will copy clearly.

FREE SCIENCE LESSON - “Enzyme Catalase Lab Activity”

by Amy Brown Science
9th - 12th Grade

FREE Biology lab on enzymes. The title is "Catalase: An Enzyme Common to Both Plants and Animals." Students will compare and contrast the action of enzymes to that of catalysts.

Click this link to view all of my FREE products

Catalase is an enzyme that is commonly found in plant and animal tissues. The function of the enzyme catalase is to break down the chemical hydrogen peroxide inside living cells. Because it is toxic, or poisonous, hydrogen peroxide would soon kill the cell if it were not removed or broken down immediately.

In this lab, the enzyme catalase will be compared to the catalyst manganese dioxide. Catalysts are similar to enzymes in that they speed up chemical reactions, but they are not specific for just one reaction.

"BOO" to Fractions? Recognizing Equivalent Fractions

By Vicky Rauch of Go Figure!

https://gofigurewithscipi.blogspot.com/2017/10/boo-to-fractions.html

I have been attempting to come up with ways for my students to recognize fractional parts in lowest terms. I can find many "drill and kill" activities, but they tend to do just that, drill those who don't need it and kill those who already know how to do it. So, to drill and "thrill," I created fractional word puzzles for specific times of the year. Read about the one for Halloween in my newest blog post.
