Use this informational Earth Day PowerPoint before your Earth Day activities to provide your students with the history and background of Earth Day. This resource consists of a 25-slide PowerPoint presentation and a 25-slide Google Slides presentation that explains the origin of Earth Day and how this movement has grown since its inception in 1970. As the PowerPoint is played, students can complete a short worksheet. The worksheet ends with a “call to action” that will generate class discussion. Students will brainstorm to create a list of ideas and actions that can be carried out to support Earth Day and to protect Planet Earth. Hopefully, your class can develop a school service project designed to protect the environment.
The following is included in your download folder:
- 25-Slide PowerPoint Presentation
- Link to Google Slides Presentation
- 2-Page Student Handout that can be used as the PowerPoint is presented.
