Designed for two or three players, Race to the Finish is a board game that provides practice regarding prepositional phrases. There are four types of question cards that vary in degree of difficulty. Students are asked 1) to identify prepositional phrases in sentences, 2) to identify prepositions and objects of prepositions, 3) to count the number of prepositional phrases that are in a sentence, and 4) to name the noun/pronoun/verb that is modified by a prepositional phrase.

In addition to the Race to the Finish game, this product includes a 22 slide interactive PowerPoint to introduce and teach prepositional phrases and their function. Also included are Practice Activities that offer a variety of learning modes. Students act out prepositional phrases in a charade type game. They also illustrate prepositional phrases in an art activity and write captions containing prepositional phrases for a variety of photos. The fourth component of this larger product contains two assessments for measuring your students’ ability to form and use prepositional phrases.
