FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Daily 5 Check In Smartboard Freebie - Pumpkin Theme”

by Smart Kinder Kids
Pre-Kindergarten - 4th Grade

This colorful Fall inspired Daily 5 Check In SmartBoard is sure to get your kids excited about Daily 5 learning and learning to make choices!

There are five slides to use for check in. You can use just one or use the different colored ones for different days or rotations.

Teachers can track their students' whereabouts in the room and ensure that all stations are being used.

Files can be saved by day, for the week or over the course of the year by using the "Save As" button and saving them by their date. You can also clone the page and add to different color backgrounds for different days of the week or different rotations.

Instructions are given in this file on how to input student names into the boxes. Once you have done this one time, you will have the names to copy and paste throughout the year for all sorts of Smartboards including attendance, lunch count, class graphs, etc. There is also a link to my blog to learn how to do screen shots if you want to learn how to ensure names don't accidentally come ungrouped.

I do custom orders so if you have a special theme or would like me to enter the names for you please email me at smartkinderkids@yahoo.com

Thanks for checking out my work. Hope you enjoy it! Follow me on my blog at
http://smartkinderkids.blogspot.com/
so you can learn more about using technology in your classroom to advance student learning.

***IMPORTANT NOTE*** Please remember that if you are having technical difficulty grouping, ungrouping, cloning, doing screen shots etc as you start to personalize your files that these are issues your campus technician can help you with or you can email me to help you, however, these are not grounds for leaving poor feedback. Learning to use Smart Notebook software can be difficult and frustrating at first until you get the hang of it, so please seek out help if you feel something is not working correctly as there is often an easy fix. Thanks!

Please also note - this is a Notebook file for use with Smartboards. I believe there are ways to convert these files to other formats however I do not know how to do this and therefore you would need to ask your campus technician if you are using a different type of board to see if it is compatible.

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Madame Periwinkle's Halloween Brew”

by Ruth S.
4th - 6th Grade

Activities include: Finding rhyming words in the story and then writing a poem using the words. Putting the way to make her brew in sequential order by cutting out strips of events, and drawing pictures of the different characters and objects and coloring them according to the descriptions in the story. This is a great activity for small groups.

I love doing this project with my kids around Halloween! They have to read the story that I wrote about Madame Periwinkles Halloween Brew. Madame Periwinkle is a kind, old witch who loves to entertain her friends with Halloween cookies and her brew. Something happens in the story that requires the kids to help Madame Periwinkle.

You will need colored pencils. Crayons are okay too! Scissors and orange, green, yellow or black construction paper, glue sticks. The Halloween template for their poems is included. Answers are included!

I'm a teacher/author and offer Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, American History, Novel Packets, Grammar, Back to School, Holidays, Writing, Poetry, Spelling, Teacher forms products and more!

FREE MATH LESSON - “Halloween addition and subtraction word problems”

by Teacher Addict
3rd - 4th Grade

Halloween addition and subtraction: This is one page with six different word problems on it pertaining to Halloween. This could be utilized different ways, but I was envisioning cutting them out and putting them at a math center. I also thought about having the students cut them out, glue each into their math journal and then solve and write about how they solved the problem underneath it. They could be given one each morning for about a week.
